Why Spay or Neuter/Breeding Facts

_Pet overpopulation is a Huge problem.  On any given day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born.
Over 4 million homeless pets are put down each year in the U.S.  Change begins with YOU!  Allowing your pet to have "just one litter" is too  much.  You can be part of the solution by not breeding your pet and having them spayed or neutered.

You may access an informational flyer to print and distribute.
Spay/Neuter

_The Cochise County Humane Society is seeking new members, volunteers and donations to aid us in our work.  We provide financial assistance to elderly, disabled and low income residents of Cochise County to spay and neuter companion animals, emergency veterinary assistance, emergency pet food and the spaying and neutering of free roaming cats.  On average, we assist 2,200 pet owners with either financial assistance or referrals each year.
Whether you want to be a member/volunteer/or both please to go to our Membership page. You will be helping people and pets.

Trap/Neuter/Return

CCHS Trap/Neuter/Return Program has been very successful. With the grant money we received from Summerlee Foundation, Bonnie Kay Fund, Arizona Pet Plate Program and other grant money we have spayed or neutered and given rabies injections to approximately 500 Free Roaming Cats in the last 12 months. Our goal is for the next 5 months to be as successful.

Cat Food Donations are still needed.
CCHS received funding for FY 2011-2012 for spay/neuter of companion animals and funds from Cochise Community Foundation and Arizona Pet Plate - pet friendly license plates.  Financial assistance is available at all the mobile clinics we sponsor.  Please call 803-7385 for information on spay/neuter programs available.

Updated 2/1/12

_ ASPCA Grant

CCHS received a matching ASPCA Grant from ASPCA in 2011.  The Huachuca City Shelter program has been so successful that CCHS has continued providing funds for the program.

Adopt an animal from HC at a cost of $35 which includes adoption and spay/neuter surgery.

  More Great News!!!!
Cochise County Humane Society has received a generous grant for spay/neuter from the Arizona Pet Friendly License Plate Project.  The project is funded by the purchase of a Pet Friendly License Plate.  It’s a great way to help in the spay/neuter of Cochise County animals, and you’ve got to have a license plate….so consider a “Pet Friendly” one!
