Cochise County Humane Society provides financial assistance to residents of Cochise County enabling them to care for their companion animals. We assist in obtaining low cost spay and neuter services, and emergency Veterinary care.

Because we are an all volunteer organization we do not have a physical location

Every dollar donated stays right here in Cochise County to help animal welfare care and funding and $0.95 goes directly to the care of the animals

ASPCA GRANT RECEIVED

CCHS is pleased to announce that we have received a grant from ASPCA to spay/neuter companion animals adopted from the Willcox and Bisbee Shelter.  The adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter (vaccinations are handled by the City of Bisbee).  Please consider adopting from one of these shelters and taking advantage of the assistance provided by the ASPCA.

Pet Plate Funding

CCHS is pleased to announce that we have received Pet Plate funding www.petplates.org for another year!  The funds are available for low income spay/neuter or companion animals anywhere in Cochise County.   CCHS IS RUNNING A SPECIAL FOR LARGE BREED DOGS MAY 1 - MAY 17 PLEASE CALL CCHS AT 803-7385 FOR DETAILS.

Why Spay or Neuter/Breeding Facts

_Pet overpopulation is a HUGE problem.  On any given day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born.
Over 4 million homeless pets are put down each year in the U.S.  Change begins with YOU!  Allowing your pet to have "just one litter" is too  much.  You can be part of the solution by not breeding your pet and having them spayed or neutered.

Spay/Neuter 

CCHS received funding for FY 2011-2012 for spay/neuter of companion animals and funds from Cochise Community Foundation and Arizona Pet Plate - pet friendly license plates.  Financial assistance is available at all the mobile clinics we sponsor.  It’s a great way to help in the spay/neuter of Cochise County animals, and you’ve got to have a license plate….so consider a “Pet Friendly” one!  Please call 803-7385 for information on spay/neuter programs available.

Needed Immediately

We are in DESPERATE need of monetary donations to help our cat rescue program.  This includes the TNR (trap/neuter/return) program, support for adoptable kittens in foster care (formula, etc.), spay/neuter costs, and feeding the feral cat communities.  Monetary donations can be sent to CCHS, P.O. Box 1516, Sierra Vista, AZ 85636 with FRC/TNR in the memo section of the check. 

We also need goat’s milk for nursing kittens.

Trap/Neuter/Return 

CCHS Trap/Neuter/Return Program has been very successful. With the grant money we received from Summerlee Foundation, Bonnie Kay Fund, Arizona Pet Plate Program and other grant money we have spayed or neutered and given rabies injections to approximately 500 Free Roaming Cats in the last 12 months. Our goal is for the next 5 months to be as successful.

Cat Food Donations are still needed.

Cochise County Community Foundation

CCHS announces that the Cochise County Community Foundation, via the Ryan Miele Foundation, has awarded funding for ranch/rural companion dogs.  Geiger Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic comes to Willcox once a week to perform surgeries and Dr. Karter Neal from the newly opened Santa Cruz Veterinary Clinic will be assisting in Douglas once a month with spay/neuter surgeries.  Please take advantage of this opportunity by calling CCHS at 803-7385.

The Ryan Miele Foundation, via the Community Foundation has approved the use of a small grant for companion animals, which we are dedicating primarily to companion cats.  With kitten season approaching, this is the opportunity, anywhere in the county, to get your kitties "fixed".  Call 803-7385

_The Cochise County Humane Society is seeking new members, volunteers and donations to aid us in our work.  We provide financial assistance to elderly, disabled and low income residents of Cochise County to spay and neuter companion animals, emergency veterinary assistance, and the spaying and neutering of free roaming cats.  On average, we assist 2,200 pet owners with either financial assistance or referrals each year.
